Additional Therapies in Grand Forks
Supportive Therapies Selected for the Individual
Chiropractic adjustments are the primary focus of care at Revive Chiropractic, but some patients may benefit from an additional therapy as part of their individual plan. These therapies are not automatically included at every visit. Dr Rachel Nelson selects them only when they are appropriate to the patient’s assessment, comfort and goals.
Supportive therapies may be used to help prepare an area for care, address muscle tension, encourage comfortable movement or complement a rehabilitation programme. Their purpose and expected role will be explained before they are used, giving you an opportunity to ask questions and make an informed decision.
Therapies Available at Revive Chiropractic
- Cupping uses cups placed on the skin to create gentle suction over selected soft-tissue areas. Some patients choose it as part of care for muscle tightness or activity-related discomfort.
- Heat and ice therapy may be recommended at different stages of care. Temperature-based support can be used for short periods according to the nature of the concern and the patient’s individual circumstances. Intersegmental traction uses a specialised table to create gentle movement through sections of the spine. It may be incorporated to support mobility and relaxation before or after other care.
- Electrical muscle stimulation, often called EMS or e-stim, uses controlled electrical impulses delivered through pads placed on the skin. When appropriate, it may be used to support muscle relaxation or activation as part of a broader care plan.
- Manual therapy involves hands-on work with muscles and other soft tissues. The technique and pressure are adapted to the area being addressed and the patient’s comfort.
